AUS – SA EXTENDS DEADLINE

Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Minister, Rory McEwen has extended the deadline for submissions to the review of the Genetically Modified Crops Management Act 2004, from 3 August to 17 August 2007.
Minister McEwen said he was happy to make the extension after being approached by individuals and organisations planning to respond to the South Australian (SA) review, and a similar review being conducted in Victoria.
“The revised deadline won’t significantly impact on the South Australian review and reflects the State Government’s commitment to engage the community in policy development,” he said.
Interested parties are encouraged to lodge submissions to the review which will all be independently assessed and a report will be prepared for the Genetically Modified Crops Advisory Committee who will make recommendations to Minister McEwen.
